Dear Fams,

Hello. Tonight is a good night here @ Paris Island. For one, I passed the shooting course. Prasie the Lord for that! It was really though but in the end I shot so well I will be awarded "sharp-shooter" and will recive a metal. I missed expert, the highest possible by only 3 points. I shot 217, and needed 220 to get expert. But "sharp-shooter" is still really good too. I hit the torso 7 out of 10 times in the center of the chest. A very difficult gesture.Secondly, we went on a "ten-mile hike" today. Basically, a jog with really heavy back packs. And I made it through that as well. It might sounds easy but man, its tough. Especially when I have to run ahead and do a poop in the woods and then I hear them yelling, "Run faster, so he has no time!" I hate that!

Some more good news. My platoon has won every single award so far. Its the first platoon in the six year career of our drill instructor to win drill, obstacal course, and rifle range. We compeat against 6 other platoons and we destroy them everytime. Tomorrow is Sunday so that is GREAT! Church is cool here.

 Here is the next few weeks I have so you all can pray for me with some sort of realization of my activities. Starting on Monday the fifth, (i think it's the fifth) we have "team week." This is really easy. All we're doing is P.T. and washing tons of clothes for 1000's of recruits that are just getting here. Next week is A-line and Basic Warrior Training. (BWT) which is night time training with glowing bullets and moving targets. We shoot from 200, 300, and 500 yards. The BWT is tons of differnt stuff. All  survival type stuff.

  Miss you all. 5 more weeks and then I get to come home for a while.
